A recent study has found that dairy products do not prevent age-related bone loss or fractures in perimenopausal and menopausal women. I suppose this is good news for vegans or people who are lactose intolerant or if you are like me and want to make sure that I'm putting all the good stuff in my body and am happy to try new recipes.
I tried almond milk, and I was not too impressed, but nothing can beat making our own as it just does not compare to the processed supermarket brands
Below is a lovely recipe that my cousin from Heal the world with words sent over to me.
Quick and easy recipe to make your own Almond Milk
- 200 grams Organic Almonds (soacked over night in cool water)
- 2 cups Water
- 2 tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 pinch Sat
Put all the ingridients into a blender, I used my nutribulet and blend until the contents are smoothe
Pour the contents into a nut milk bag
Squeeze over a bowl or jug until the liquid is extracted
Then transfer in to a bottle of your choice
Its best to use a funnel
This Almond milk is delicious and should be kept in the fridge
